SOCHI (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 29th September, 2018) An agreement on regular cruise shipping in the Black Sea basin might be signed by the countries of the region at a meeting in Istanbul that will take place at the beginning of 2019, Sochi Mayor Anatoly Pakhomov said on Saturday.

Earlier on Saturday, a meeting with the participation of a delegation representing Turkey's Black Sea cities and the Bulgarian city of Varna was held in Russia's Sochi. It was initially planned to sign the agreement at the meeting, however, the parties agreed that the document should be finalized. According to Pakhomov, the meeting, nevertheless, yielded positive results, and the decision to create two working groups to facilitate the agreement's signing was made.

"As soon as the conclusions of the working groups are ready, we will hold another meeting in Istanbul. We will definitely sign the agreement, but it should be further elaborated. The tour operators from Sochi should work with tour operators from Bulgaria, Georgia, Turkey, perhaps, in order to figure out the routes and then sign the agreement," Pakhomov said.

The Sochi mayor stressed that all the details concerning the signing of the agreements between tour operators and port managers should be signed before the start of the next summer season.
