The 75th meeting of the Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Defense Ministers will for the first time be held in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent on October 10-12, the Uzbek Defense Ministry's press service told Sputnik on Saturday.
TASHKENT (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 29th September, 2018) The 75th meeting of the Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Defense Ministers will for the first time be held in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent on October 10-12, the Uzbek Defense Ministry's press service told Sputnik on Saturday.
"On October 10-12, another meeting of the Council of CIS Defense Ministers will for the first time be held in Tashkent," a representative of the ministry said.
The meeting is expected to be held at the Uzbekistan International Forums Palace.
According to the ministry, the cooperation within the framework of the council helps to address strategic issues relating to ensuring peace and stability in the region.
In April, the academy of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan for the first time hosted the 48th meeting of the CIS Coordinating Committee on Air Defense of the Council of CIS Defense Ministers.
