NEW YORK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 28th September, 2018) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at the start of a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas that he intends to discuss with him the prospects for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict settlement.
Lavrov and Abbas are meeting on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
"We need to keep in touch about what's going on internationally, but mostly around Palestine. It is of a crucial importance for us to have the privilege of your assessments of the situation. We would like to see how the international community, and Russia in particular, can promote the settlement on the basis of UN decision and the Arab peace initiative" Lavrov said addressing Abbas.
