Russia proposes to consider withdrawal of joint South-North Korean projects from the UN sanctions list, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Thursday addressing the UN Security Council.
UNITED NATIONS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 27th September, 2018) Russia proposes to consider withdrawal of joint South-North Korean projects from the UN sanctions list, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Thursday addressing the UN Security Council.
"In the Panmunjom and Pyongyang declarations the parties [South and North Korea] reaffirmed their interest for implementation of joint economic projects. If all of us welcome these arrangements, let us think about creating in the 1718 [Security Council] Committee [on sanctions against North Korea] special conditions for consideration of requests for withdrawing projects of the inter-Korean cooperation, that Pyongyang and Seoul agreed on, from the sanctions list," Lavrov said.
