Sultan bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation launches ‘Cultural Security Forum’ in Jordan

The Sultan bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation organised the "Cultural Security Forum" in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 27th Sep, 2018) The Sultan bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation organised the "Cultural Security Forum" in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

Held on Wednesday in cooperation with the Abdulhamid Shuman Foundation, the forum aims to discuss the concept of cultural identity and the role of culture in the development of communities, as well as other cultural issues.

The forum was attended by members of the board of Trustees of the foundation Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Mutawa and Nasser Hussain Al Aboudi, as well as Abdul Ilah Abdul Qader, Executive Director of the Foundation, Jeris Samawi, former Jordanian Minister of Culture, Mohammed Al Dhammour, Chairman of the Jordanian Writers Association, Faisal Al Malek, Advisor to the UAE Embassy, and Nada Al Harban, Cultural Attaché at the Bahraini Embassy.

In her speech during the event, Valentina Kassisieh, CEO of the Abdulhamid Shuman Foundation, said that the forum is the outcome of the partnership between the two foundations and will enable them to have a greater influence on the cultural scene of Arab countries. The forum raised many questions about how to achieve cultural security and promote cultural tools, to protect Arab identity and heritage, she added.

The launch of the forum is part of a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, between the founders of the two foundations in 2010, which stipulates the organisation of artistic events, intellectual seminars and cultural weeks in the UAE and Jordan.
