MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 27th September, 2018) The Russian Foreign Ministry's spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, commented on Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics' election campaign banner that contains a slogan reading Latvia is a successful country and will remain one despite the Kremlin.
"The Kremlin wanted Latvia to become a prosperous state. But if it only wants to be a successful [country], it is welcome," Zakharova wrote on Facebook on Wednesday, commenting on the photos of Rinkevics' banner published by a Facebook user.
Rinkevics, a critic of Russia's policies, is running in the October 6 parliamentary elections.
