Russia's Ryabkov Says US Has Nothing But Threats Amid New Anti-Russian Sanctions

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 26th September, 2018) Washington has nothing left in its arsenal but threats, and US officials are unsuccessfully trying to satisfy their geopolitical ambitions through new sanctions, something which Russia ignores, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov told Sputnik commenting on new sanctions.

The US Department of Commerce has decided to impose sanctions on 12 Russian companies over "acting contrary to the national security or foreign policy interests of the United States." The relevant document is set to be published in the Federal Register on Wednesday.

"We, of course, understand that there is nothing left in the arsenal of US foreign policy, except for sanctions, threats and power tricks. We will base our approach to the United States upon this fact. The authors of all new sanctions cannot satisfy their geopolitical ambitions, they live unrealizable dreams about the possibility to draw our country away from its path. We do not pay attention to them," Ryabkov said.

Washington keeps "churning out anti-Russia measures," but Russia has gotten used to this, regarding the actions as "annoying" but "routine," the deputy foreign minister said.

Ryabkov highlighted that Russian entities and people were included in US sanctions lists eight times in August and September alone.
