The Industrial Producer Price Index related to manufacturing in Abu Dhabi rose by 80.6 percent during the second quarter 2018, a 13.4 percent increase compared to 71 percent during the same period in 2017, according to statistics issued today by Abu Dhabi Statistics Centre, which also highlighted a 4.2 percent increase in the index compared to the first quarter of the current year.
(Pakistan Point News - 25th Sep, 2018) ABU DHABI, 25th September, 2018 (WAM) – The Industrial Producer price Index related to manufacturing in Abu Dhabi rose by 80.6 percent during the second quarter 2018, a 13.4 percent increase compared to 71 percent during the same period in 2017, according to statistics issued today by Abu Dhabi Statistics Centre, which also highlighted a 4.2 percent increase in the index compared to the first quarter of the current year.
The key activities that contributed to the increase are the production of coke coal and refined oil products, whose prices rose by 29 percent, and chemical materials and products that increased by 29.2 percent.
The information used in the statistics were obtained from 52 establishments in Abu Dhabi and 13 in Al Ain.
The index covers the manufacturing sector on a quarterly basis while the statistics are based on a list of major products in the manufacturing industry, according to an international industrial classification that represents all areas of the sector.
The statistics aim to measure changes in production prices over a certain period compared to those during the base year of 2012. The centre is following the best international practices in calculating and processing information while the index will eventually include extractive industries and the electricity and water sectors.
