‘India is involved in terrorism in Pakistan’: Fawad Chaudhry’s interview to Indian channel goes viral

Says India is trying to divert the attention from Modi's Rafale Deal by using the name of Pakistan

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 25th September, 2018) Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry gave an interview to Indian news channel India Today and it is going viral for all the right reasons.

The information minister called out on India, saying terrorism is a very important issue and we believe India is involved in terrorism in Pakistan.

“Kulbushan Yadav was arrested from Balochistan with an Indian passport,” he said.

“We lost seven soldiers in North Waziristan, including a captain,” Chaudhry said, adding that they were young boys. Some of them had not even been married.

Prime Minister Imran Khan was forced to call off the India-Pakistan dialogue, because he felt pressured by the Bharatiya Janata Party, a right-wing political party in India. “Anti-Pakistan rhetoric sells in India. That’s the only way we interpret (the calling-off of the dialogue),” he said.

The minister further said that negotiations between the two countries cannot take place without discussing Kashmir, and Indian occupation of Kashmir is illegal.

“When you say, let’s talk, but let’s not talk on Kashmir, you’re only fooling yourself. And if India believes that Pakistan should not stand with the people of Kashmir, obviously (the Indians) are wrong,” he said.

“Pakistan wants to negotiate. The other two options are war or sabotage. We’re both atomic countries. Those who will be left behind after the war can (then) talk to each other,” he added.

About the Rafale scandal against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that Rafale scandal is the Panama papers case of India.

“The way his friend Nawaz Sharif is ousted in Panama case, I think the same thing is going on in India,” he said.

The minister said Modi was in serious trouble on Rafale deal, and that he was trying to divert the attention of the people of India from the deal to external issues. “Apni jung khud lado (Fight your own battles),” he said.

“If the BJP and Modi fought their war inside India, we would have no problem. But the problem is that they are trying to shift their controversy, they are trying to divert the attention by using the name of Pakistan,” he added.

“That is the funniest part, and also I would say, frankly, it shows that for them, politics is more important than the people,” he further said.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had responded to Indian government's decision, saying that he is disappointed at the ‘arrogant’ and ‘negative’ response by the Indian side to his offer to restore dialogue between the two countries.

PM Imran had on Thursday written a letter to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi and called for a resumption of dialogue between the two countries.

He had also proposed a meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries on the sidelines of the 73rd UNGA session.

Hours after reports circulated regarding PM Imran's letter to Modi, Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Raveesh Kumar confirmed that Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Sushma Swaraj would meet on the sidelines of the UNGA.

However, on Friday, the Indian MEA spokesperson announced the cancellation of the meeting.
