UK Businesses Call On Gov't To Release Remaining Guidance In Event Of No-Deal Brexit

LONDON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 25th September, 2018) The UK business community calls on the government to issue all the remaining recommendations in the event of no-deal Brexit, Allie Renison, the head of Europe and trade policy at the UK Institute of Directors (IoD) uniting senior business representatives, said on Monday.

Earlier on Monday, the office of the UK prime minister issued another package of technical recommendations for businesses and citizens in the event if London and Brussels fail to reach an agreement on Brexit conditions. The new guidance includes 24 documents relating to transport, veterinary medicine and labeling of products. The first package of technical advice was released on September 13.

"Neither side wants the UK to leave without a deal in place, but Government must publish the remaining notices with haste in order to give businesses the full range of details they need to make preparations. There is a good degree of useful detail in this no-deal guidance, particularly on navigating the potential increase in traffic at borders," Renison said in the statement.

She, at the same time, called on the UK government to make every effort to negotiate a deal with Brussels.

On Friday, UK Prime Minister Theresa May said following an informal two-day EU summit in the Austrian city of Salzburg that the United Kingdom would continue to prepare itself for a no-deal Brexit since the majority of proposals of her Brexit white paper were rejected by Brussels.

The United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union in a referendum in June 2016 and is expected to do so by late March 2019.
