The visit of Russian experts specializing in natural resources and the mining industry to Venezuelan deposits to assist and consult their Venezuelan counterparts might take place at the end of the year, Venezuelan Ambassador to Russia Carlos Rafael Faria Tortosa told Sputnik in an interview released on Monday
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 24th September, 2018) The visit of Russian experts specializing in natural resources and the mining industry to Venezuelan deposits to assist and consult their Venezuelan counterparts might take place at the end of the year, Venezuelan Ambassador to Russia Carlos Rafael Faria Tortosa told Sputnik in an interview released on Monday.
According to the ambassador, Moscow and Caracas are currently exchanging the relevant information.
"A visit of Russia's highly qualified natural resources and mining industry specialists is being prepared, they should provide assistance at the Venezuelan gas and oil fields, provide a comprehensive consultation, carry out the certification of deposits, technologies that should be used, and, of course, to offer the possible [assistance] of the Russian companies," the diplomat said.
The ambassador specified that such a visit might take place at the end of the year.
In late 2017, Venezuelan Ecological Development and Mining Minister Victor Kano said following the meeting of the Russian-Venezuelan high-level intergovernmental commission that the parties had discussed the possibility of exploration and exploitation of natural resources in Venezuela by Russian specialists. He also stated that the Russian party was interested in delivering equipment for Venezuela's mining industry.
