Russia's Krasnodar Becomes 16th City In Country With Over 1Mln Citizens - Statement

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 23rd September, 2018) Russia's city of Krasnodar officially became the country's 16th city with more than a million people, the city administration said in a statement.

"It's nice that it happened on City Day, when Krasnodar officially became the 16th Russian city with over one million people," Mayor of Krasnodar Evgeny Pervyshov said Saturday as quoted in the statement.

The respective symbolic certificate proving this status was given to Pervyshov by the Russian Federal State Statistics Service's (Rosstat) local division head Tatiana Kurnyakova.

Among other Russia's cities with population of over one million people, there are Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Krasnoyarsk, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Perm, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Samara, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don, and Voronezh.
