Shehzad Roy remembers teaching chess to Malala

Roy appreciated how she is such a quick learner.

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 22nd September, 2018) Singer and activist Shehzad Roy has shared a picture with Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai as he taught her the highly strategic board-game of chess.

Sharing the picture on his Twitter account, Shehzad Roy said that chess is a mind sport and it should be a part of our school curriculum.

About teaching Malala, he appreciated how she is such a quick learner.

“Chess is a mind sport and it should be a part of our school curriculum. @ZindagiTrust adopted a govt school, SMB Fatima jinnah which has produced a national champion in chess. Here I am trying to teach @Malala how to play chess. Must say that she is a quick learner” he wrote.

The 41-year-old singer is the president and founder of Zindagi Trust, an NGO that strives to improve the quality of education available to the average Pakistani. He has also received Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, Sitara-i-Esaar and Sitara-e-Imtiaz for his services.

Meanwhile, Malala is known for her activism for girls' education and has also been awarded with a Nobel prize for her efforts to promote education in the Swat valley and surving a militant attack in this pursuit.
