Serbian, Russian Foreign Ministers Commend Developing Bilateral Relations - Statement

BELGRADE (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 22nd September, 2018) Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov have commended the active development of bilateral ties at their meeting on Friday, the Serbian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The talks of the top diplomats were held in Banja Luka, the de facto capital of Republika Srpska, an autonomous Serb-dominated entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"Dacic and Lavrov, the foreign ministers of Serbia and Russia, concluded that the level of trust and high dynamics of Russian-Serbian contacts show that the relations between the two countries are constantly and productively developing," the statement read.

The Serbian foreign minister expressed gratitude to the Russian side for supporting Belgrade and its dialogue with Pristina under the UN Security Council Resolution 1244.

The sides also discussed mutual support for each other in international organizations and preparations for the upcoming session of the Serbian-Russian Intergovernmental Committee on Economic Cooperation, according to the statement.
