At Least 22 People Killed In Landslide In Central Philippines - Reports

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 21st September, 2018) At least 22 people have been killed in a landslide in the city of Naga in the central part of the Philippines, media reported on Friday.

Moreover, nine people had been rescued from the landslide site, the Xinhua news agency reported, citing Garry Cabotaje, the Naga city government spokesman.

"We are still hoping that many villagers will be rescued today," Cabotaje told Xinhua.

The landslide occurred in the early hours of Thursday. Over 50 houses in Naga have been affected by the disaster.

It followed the deadly Typhoon Mangkhut that hit the northeast coast of the Philippines on September 14 leaving 81 people killed, 71 others injured and 70 people missing.
