Russian President Vladimir Putin will make a speech at a plenary session of the second Eurasian Women's Forum on Thursday, the Kremlin's press service said on Wednesday in a statement.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 19th September, 2018) Russian President Vladimir Putin will make a speech at a plenary session of the second Eurasian Women's Forum on Thursday, the Kremlin's press service said on Wednesday in a statement.

"On September 20, Vladimir Putin will address a plenary session of the second Eurasian Women's Forum that will be held in the Tauride Palace in St. Petersburg. The main topic of the forum is 'Women for Global Security and Sustainable Development,'" the statement said.

The three-day forum kicked off on Wednesday. According to the Kremlin, some 2,000 people from more than 100 countries including female lawmakers, representatives of the executive power bodies, international organizations, business circles, social organizations as well as heads of charity projects would take part in the event.

This year's event will be the second edition of the forum. Following the 2015 Eurasian Women's Forum, which brought together participants from 80 countries, it was decided that the event would be held once every three years.
