North, South Koreas Sign Defense Agreement, Joint Statement After Summit - Seoul

SEOUL (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 19th September, 2018) North Korea and South Korea signed an agreement in the military sphere and a joint statement following the summit in Pyongyang, Sputnik correspondent reported on Wednesday from the Seoul-based press center of the inter-Korean summit.

The agreement in military sphere was signed by South Korean Defense Minister, Song Young-moo, and North Korean Defense Minister of People's Armed Forces, No Kwang Chol in the presence of the two states' leaders.

Then, South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un signed a joint statement following the summit.

Their meeting took place on Wednesday in the "one-on-one" format in the official residence for the honorable guests. The persons accompanying the leaders were waiting for the end of their conversation in the corridor.

Signature of both documents was announced by Seoul administration spokesperson several minutes before they were signed.
