Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia will hold a meeting with Syrian Grand Mufti Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun in Moscow on Tuesday, the press service of the patriarch said.
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 18th September, 2018) Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia will hold a meeting with Syrian Grand Mufti Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun in Moscow on Tuesday, the press service of the patriarch said.
"On September 18, His Holiness will meet with Syrian Mufti Sheikh Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun in the Danilov residence [Patriarchal and Synodal Residence at Danilov Monastery in Moscow]," the statement read.
The press service did not reveal any details about the upcoming meeting, while Mufti Albir Krganov, the head of the Spiritual Assembly of Russian Muslims, told Sputnik that talks would focus on the situation in Syria and on interfaith cooperation. According to Krganov, the two religious leaders will also discuss the importance of maintaining religious balance in Syria and preserving the Orthodox mission there.
Krganov added that Hassoun would spend several days in Russia.
