Russia should work toward achieving a breakthrough in its economy, technology and social area, which would eventually improve the quality of life of its citizens, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday.
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 18th September, 2018) Russia should work toward achieving a breakthrough in its economy, technology and social area, which would eventually improve the quality of life of its citizens, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday.
"A lot has been done already but ... we will have to do more. Russia should strive for a breakthrough in the economy, technology and social area. The main goal of these changes is the improvement of quality of life of our citizens. These changes will take place in all [Russia's] regions, and the role played by the capital city in solving of this nationwide task will always be very important," Putin said at a ceremony of inauguration of Sergey Sobyanin as Moscow's mayor.
Moscow mayoral elections were held on September 9. Sobyanin was re-elected with 70.17 percent of the vote.
In 2013, Sobyanin won the mayoral elections with 51.37 percent of the vote.
