PMLN MNA flees from court for not getting bail

Ch Hamid Hameed along with 34 other accused fled from the court after it dismissed their bail petition in a case pertaining to delivering anti-army and anti-judiciary speeches

Sargodha (Pakistan Point News – 18th September, 2018) Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MNA Ch Hamid Hameed absconded from the sessions court in Sargodha, along with 35 other accused.

The accused fled from the court after the court dismissed their bail petition in a case pertaining to delivering speeches and chanting slogans against the Pak Army and judiciary.

The police had filed the case against MNA Ch Hamid Hameed and other 220 PMLN activists over the charges of delivering inflammatory speeches and chanting slogans against the state institutions during a protest on July 25, 2018 elections.

They are accused of raising slogans against judiciary and army and resorting to violence to get results from the RO office. Hameed was elected on PMLN ticket and during counting of postal papers he alleged that army had manipulated ballots against PMLN nominees.

The court had granted an interim bail to the MNA and other accused in the case.

However, Additional Session Judge Afzal Faheem rejected their pre-arrest bail petition on Monday.
