First Moldovan-Russian Economic Forum in Chisinau to Focus on Industry, Tourism - Dodon

Moldovan President Igor Dodon held on Monday the final meeting dedicated to preparations for the first Moldovan-Russian Economic Forum (MREF) and presented the agenda for the event, which will include discussions on industry, agriculture, tourism and urban development.

CHISINAU (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 17th September, 2018) Moldovan President Igor Dodon held on Monday the final meeting dedicated to preparations for the first Moldovan-Russian Economic Forum (MREF) and presented the agenda for the event, which will include discussions on industry, agriculture, tourism and urban development.

The event will kick off Thursday evening. The participants will meet with Dodon and attend a welcome dinner.

"Today, I held the final session on the organization of the Moldovan-Russian Economic Forum, which will be held in [the Moldovan capital] of Chisinau on September 20-22, under the aegis of the president of the Republic of Moldova. Around 200 Russian and over 350 Moldovan businesspeople have voiced their willingness to take part in the forum," Dodon posted on Facebook, adding that seven panel discussions dedicated to tourism, industry, urban development, agriculture and wine production, as well as a plenary session would be held on Friday.

The plenary session, dubbed "Moldova is calling," will bring together Dodon, co-chairman of the all-Russian business association Business Russia Andrei Nazarov, Russian business ombudsman Boris Titov, head of the Russian Commerce and Industry Chamber Sergei Katyrin and Alexander Kalinin, the head of the all-Russian non-governmental organization of small and medium businesses Opora Russia. The session will also feature an address by Michael Harms, the managing director of the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations.

On Saturday, a business breakfast for media representatives will be held, and then the participants of the forum will do sightseeing.

The MREF is set to become an annual event and will be held in the Russian capital of Moscow in 2019.
