Karachi,(Pakistan Point, 11th October,2016) : A word of forgiveness has been expressed by the Former Pakistan captain and legendary batsman Javed Miandad for the great all-rounder of the past Shahid Afridi for his polemical statements he issued against Miandad during the book launching ceremony on Sunday against the 59-year-old. “I am hurt with what he [Afridi] said, but I will forgive him,” Miandad said expressing his modesty. Earlier, former captain Wasim Akram was also seen trying to figure out the issue between the two assets of Pakistan cricket, meeting them separately and made them to realize how this can leave a wrong impact on national cricket.
The tension between the two greats aroused when Afridi while talking to media said that money is the sole problem of Miandad from the very beginning and this is what differentiates him from the world cup winner captain of the Pakistani history Imran Khan. Reaction came immediately from the Miandad, who was the part of the 1992 World Cup winning eleven, and performed his part at his best during the vital innings in the semi-final and the final, when he put allegation of match fixing on Afridi. “I challenge Afridi to swear upon his daughter and say that he didn’t sell Pakistan’s matches,” said Miandad. Being accused of match fixing, Afridi who represented Pakistan in 398 ODIs, 98 T20Is and 27 Tests, responded by deciding to issue Miandad a legal notice on Thursday, a source confirmed Pakistan Point.
