"Less than half say Trump's ethics are lower than Richard Nixon's, but the 43% saying this still outweighs the 37% who say Trump's ethics are higher than Nixon's," the poll showed.
US voters rated Trump worse than Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter, George H.W. and George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. Trump does not have a significant advantage over Obama and Clinton, but the gap is still sizable, the poll found.
Republicans have a more favorable of Trump's ethics compared to Democratic presidents, but they believe the current White House occupant demonstrates lower ethical standards than other Republican leaders.
Gallup concluded that Americans put Trump close to Nixon when it comes to high and low ethics. Nixon, who served as the 37th President of the United States, was charged with obstruction of justice and ended up resigning from office.
