S. Korea To Seek Joint Response Against Protectionism At G20 Meeting

South Korea will seek ways to put up a united front against rising protectionism trends at the Group of 20 trade ministers meeting in Argentina this week, the government said Thursday.
SEOUL (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Sep, 2018 ) :South Korea will seek ways to put up a united front against rising protectionism trends at the Group of 20 trade ministers meeting in Argentina this week, the government said Thursday.
Kim Chang-gyu, the trade policy director at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, will attend the G-20 meeting in Mar del Plata in Argentina on Friday to discuss the latest trade issues with other partner members.
Kim will discuss ways to promote the multilateral rule-based trade system as the World Trade Organization (WTO) faces challenges amid a deepening trade dispute between China and the United States that has also affect other major trading partners, the ministry said.
The Korean official will have bilateral meetings with major trade partners, including China, Mexico and Canada, to explore ways to promote free trade.
