The surface attack group of Russia's Pacific Fleet has hit its target in the Sea of Okhotsk with cruise missiles from a distance of more than 100 kilometers (62 miles) during the Vostok-2018 large-scale military drills, the Russian Defense Ministry said Wednesday in a press release.
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 12th September, 2018) The surface attack group of Russia's Pacific Fleet has hit its target in the Sea of Okhotsk with cruise missiles from a distance of more than 100 kilometers (62 miles) during the Vostok-2018 large-scale military drills, the Russian Defense Ministry said Wednesday in a press release.
"The ship strike group of the Pacific Fleet consisting of the Bystriy destroyer and two missile boats struck the surface target with Moskit cruise missiles. The target vessel was drifting at a distance of more than 100 kilometers," the press release read.
All three missiles hit the target.
Vostok-2018, the largest military exercises held by Russia in over 30 years, with 300,000 troops expected to participate, began on Tuesday at five ranges in the east of Russia, and in the waters of the Sea of Japan, Bering Sea and the Sea of Okhotsk. The drills will end on Monday.
