Ukrainian Filmmaker Sentsov's Health Condition Satisfactory - Russian Penitentiary Service

The health condition of Ukrainian filmmaker Oleg Sentsov, who is serving a prison term in Russia and has been on hunger strike for several months, is satisfactory, the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service said on Tuesday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 11th September, 2018) The health condition of Ukrainian filmmaker Oleg Sentsov, who is serving a prison term in Russia and has been on hunger strike for several months, is satisfactory, the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service said on Tuesday.

"The convict Oleg Sentsov ... receives maintenance therapy, treatment, assigned to him, and takes nutritional formula on a daily basis. The convict's condition can be assessed as satisfactory following a medical examination," the press service of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service's department in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area said.

Medics have been constantly monitoring Sentsov's condition, the statement added.

Last Wednesday, regional ombudsman Anatoly Sak visited Sentsov in jail. The detained Ukrainian national did not make any complaints about the detention conditions to the ombudsman, the statement pointed out.

Sentsov was convicted by a Russian court in 2015 for setting up a terrorist cell and plotting a terrorist attack in Crimea. The Ukrainian national has denied his guilt.

Sentsov has been on a hunger strike since mid-May.
