US Ambassador For Religious Freedom Traveling To Ukraine, Poland This Week - State Dept.

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 11th September, 2018) US Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom Sam Brownback has started a nine-day trip to Ukraine, Poland and Uzbekistan, the State Department said in a press release.

"Ambassador-at-Large for International Religious Freedom Sam Brownback is currently on travel to Ukraine, Poland, and Uzbekistan September 10-19," the release said on Monday.

Brownback is set to hold meetings with Ukrainian officials and religious leaders on attempts to defend freedom of religion.

Following the visit to Kiev, the ambassador will head to Poland, where he will participate in the 2018 Human Dimension Implementation Meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. He will also make a stop at the Auschwitz concentration camp and take part a wreath-laying ceremony at the Auschwitz Wall of Death and a candle-lighting ceremony at the International Monument at the conclusion of the tour, the release added.

In addition, Brownback is expected to travel to Uzbekistan, where he will meet with top officials to talk about the country's actions regarding religious freedom, the release noted.
