UNITED NATION (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 10th September, 2018) Russia has requested an open United Nations Security Council meeting to discuss the outcomes of the summit between Russia, Iran and Turkey on the crisis in Syria, the Russian Mission to the UN said in a statement on Monday.
"Russia requested an open UN Security Council Meeting given the interest of some Security Council members in the outcomes of trilateral summit between Russia, Iran and Turkey," the statement said.
Russia requested the meeting due to the "heightened attention" to Syria's Idlib province, where terrorist forces are currently concentrated, according to the Russian Mission.
