Qatar to Boost Investment in German Economy by Over $11Bln - Reports

Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has told German Chancellor Angela Markel at a bilateral business forum in Berlin that Doha is planning to increase its investments in German companies by 10 billion euros (some $11.6 billion), media reported on Friday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th September, 2018) Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has told German Chancellor Angela Markel at a bilateral business forum in Berlin that Doha is planning to increase its investments in German companies by 10 billion Euros (some $11.6 billion), media reported on Friday.

According to the Handelsblatt newspaper, total investment will grow from 25 billion to 35 billion euros.

The increase is expected to be administered within five years, the N-TV broadcaster specified.

With this additional sum, Qatar will become Germany's largest investor among the Persian Gulf states, leaving Kuwait with its 27 billion euros far behind.
