German Chancellor Angela Merkel will hold talks with her Austrian counterpart Sebastian Kurz in the German capital of Berlin on September 16, during which they will discuss the preparations for the upcoming informal meeting of the EU heads of states and governments, German government's spokesman Steffen Seibert said on Friday.
BERLIN (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th September, 2018) German Chancellor Angela Merkel will hold talks with her Austrian counterpart Sebastian Kurz in the German capital of Berlin on September 16, during which they will discuss the preparations for the upcoming informal meeting of the EU heads of states and governments, German government's spokesman Steffen Seibert said on Friday.
"During the negotiations, acute issues of the European policy will be discussed, including the preparation for the informal meeting of the EU heads of states and governments, which will be held in [the Austrian city of] Salzburg on September 19-20," Seibert said at a press briefing.
Kutz, who currently holds the presidency of the European Council, will host the meeting.
Seibert said that the European agenda was currently "very comprehensive," adding that Merkel was also going to discuss pressing issues during her talks with French President Emmanuel Macron, set to be held in the French city of Marseille on Friday.
