Seoul to Send Envoys to China, Japan Following Delegation's Visit to Pyongyang - Reports

South Korean President Moon Jae-in will send his special representatives to China and Japan to brief both nations on the outcomes of the South Korean delegation's recent visit to Pyongyang, media reported on Friday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 07th September, 2018) South Korean President Moon Jae-in will send his special representatives to China and Japan to brief both nations on the outcomes of the South Korean delegation's recent visit to Pyongyang, media reported on Friday.

On Wednesday, the delegation, headed by Moon's top security adviser Chung Eui-yong, visited Pyongyang and agreed with the North Korean side on holding the next inter-Korean summit on September 18-20. During the visit, Chung also delivered messages from Moon and US President Donald Trump to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

According to the Yonhap news agency, Chung will meet head of China's Communist Party foreign affairs office Yang Jiechi in Beijing on Saturday, while South Korean National Intelligence Service Director Suh Hoon will travel to Tokyo on Monday to meet Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

If the planned meeting between Moon and Kim in Pyongyang takes place in September, it will be the third encounter of the two leaders. After Kim announced earlier this year that North Korea was ready to denuclearize, he met with the South Korean president in April and May in the border village of Panmunjom.
