"The United States has imposed sanctions on many countries and waged a trade war under the banners of unilateralism, it poses a threat to global economic growth and leads to an unstable situation in the economies of the regions," Li said.
The diplomat noted that the United States "provoked" a trade war with China, thereby jeopardizing the international trade order "that has functioned steadily for many years, and giving the world community cause for concern about the prospects of the global economy."
"China is always open to dialogue and consultations on the settlement of China-US trade tensions, but the dialogue should be based on mutual respect and equality, on laws and trust. China will not tolerate pressure and unilateral threats against it," the ambassador stressed.
