MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 06th September, 2018) The majority of German citizens are most afraid of the potential fallout from US President Donald Trump's policies as well as the dire migration situation in the country, a fresh poll revealed.

According to a survey conducted by the Germany-based insurance company R+V Versicherung, 69 percent of respondents feared that the current policies of the United States would lead to negative consequences.

"Over two-thirds of Germans fear that the policies of Donald Trump can make the world more dangerous," the survey said.

The second most common concern surrounded the fact that the country was overcrowded with refugees. According to the poll, 63 percent believed that a further increase in the number of migrant arrivals could lead to tension between newcomers, those already living in Germany and the indigenous population of the country. Last year, only 57 percent expressed their fears on this matter.

At least 60 percent of Germans expressed concern over the fact that politicians were overworked with different problems. The poll revealed that the level of public trust in the authorities was decreasing.

The danger stemming from terrorism closes out the top three main fears of Germans with 59 percent.

The fears survey has been conducted in Germany annually for over 25 years. The information center of R+V Versicherung annually polls about 2,400 German citizens aged 14 and over. The study included questions about the strongest political, economic, personal and environmental fears of the country's population.
