Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Iran on Friday to attend the summit of the guarantor states of the Astana process, the Russian leader is expected to hold bilateral meeting with his Iranian and Turkish counterparts during the visit, the Kremlin press service said on Monday.
MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 03rd September, 2018) Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Iran on Friday to attend the summit of the guarantor states of the Astana process, the Russian leader is expected to hold bilateral meeting with his Iranian and Turkish counterparts during the visit, the Kremlin press service said on Monday.
"On September 7, Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a working visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran to participate in the third trilateral meeting of the leaders of the guarantor states of the Astana process to promote the Syrian settlement ... The Russian president is also scheduled to hold separate bilateral meetings with the leaders of Iran and Turkey," the press release said.
The press service noted that the three leaders were expected to address further joint efforts to ensure the long-term improvement of the situation in Syria.
"In particular, the sides are expected to discuss a set of additional measures aimed at the complete elimination of the hotbed of international terrorism, promotion of the political settlement process and resolution of humanitarian issues, including in the area of creating conditions for the return of refugees and internally displaced persons," the press release read.
