DPR Closes All Borders As Law Enforcement Operation Ongoing - DPR Leader's Adviser

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st September, 2018) The authorities of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) closed the republic's external frontiers, including with Russia and the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR), due to a special security operation, a DPR official told Sputnik Friday.

Earlier on Friday, DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko was killed in a bomb blast in a cafe in downtown Donetsk. The explosion also caused grave injuries to DPR Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Timofeev, who accompanied Zakharchenko, and who is now in grave condition in a hospital. The DPR authorities have classified the incident as a terrorist attack and launched a manhunt for the attackers.

"All the borders have been closed completely, including the borders with the LPR and Russia, because a special operation is being carried out, there are already detainees," Alexander Kazakov, the adviser to the late DPR leader, said.

"We know the perpetrators, the challenge now is to detain them," Kazakov stressed.
