DPR Declares 3-Day Mourning Over Zakharchenko's Death

A three-day mourning has been declared in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic in eastern Ukraine in connection with the assassination of the DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko, the republic's government said on its website on Friday.

DONETSK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st September, 2018) A three-day mourning has been declared in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic in eastern Ukraine in connection with the assassination of the DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko, the republic's government said on its website on Friday.

Zakharchenko was killed in a staged bomb blast in a cafe in downtown Donetsk earlier in the day. DPR Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Timofeev, who accompanied Zakharchenko, is in grave condition in a hospital.

"In line with the decision by the Cabinet, mourning days over the death of DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko have been established. September 1, 2, and 3 have been designated as days of mourning," the government said in a statement.
