DPR Deputy Prime Minister Trapeznikov Gets Appointed Republic's Acting Leader

Dmitry Trapeznikov, the deputy prime minister of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), was appointed acting DPR leader after the assassination of DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko.

DONETSK (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 01st September, 2018) Dmitry Trapeznikov, the deputy prime minister of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), was appointed acting DPR leader after the assassination of DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko.

Earlier on Friday, Zakharchenko was killed in a bomb blast in a cafe in downtown Donetsk. The explosion also caused serious injuries to DPR Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Timofeev, who accompanied Zakharchenko, and who is now in grave condition in a hospital. The DPR authorities have classified the incident as a terrorist attack.

"The decision of the DPR territorial defense headquarters: in accordance with the paragraph 1 of the article 102 of the DPR Constitution, to appoint Trapeznikov Dmitry Viktorovich, the deputy head of the council of ministers, interim [DPR] leader in connection to the death of [DPR] head Alexander Zakharchenko," the decision, read out by Trapeznikov himself, read.
