Debt of Russia's Khrunichev Space Center Exceeds $1.4 Bln - Roscosmos Head

The debt of the Russian Khrunichev state research and production space center exceeds 100 billion rubles ($1.4 billion), Director General of Russia's State Space Corporation Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin said on Thursday.

KLIN (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 30th August, 2018) The debt of the Russian Khrunichev state research and production space center exceeds 100 billion rubles ($1.4 billion), Director General of Russia's State Space Corporation Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin said on Thursday.

"I do not want to scare you, but the figure [the center's debt] exceeds 100 billion rubles," Rogozin said.

Roscosmos will assist its subsidiary, the Khrunichev center, in paying back its arrears, the head of the agency added, expressing his hope that it would be done within three years.

"We see when we need to repay debts, we have carried out the necessary work with banks. We do not plan a single-occasion return of the entire amount, but we plan to settle all our debts within three years," Rogozin indicated.

According to the Roscosmos head, the Khrunichev center owes 15 billion rubles to Russia's state-owned Sberbank and the same amount to the Russian Agricultural Bank. It owes a further 12.5 billion rubles to Russian state development bank Vnesheconombank (VEB) and 26 billion rubles to Roscosmos.
