Russia's Gazprom Set to Boost Gas Extraction in January-August by 7.5% Year-on-Year - CEO

Russian energy giant Gazprom is set to increase gas extraction in January-August this year by 7.5 percent, compared to the similar period last year, the company's CEO Alexei Miller said Thursday.

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 30th August, 2018) Russian energy giant Gazprom is set to increase gas extraction in January-August this year by 7.5 percent, compared to the similar period last year, the company's CEO Alexei Miller said Thursday.

"According to the recent reports, in eight months we will have increased gas extraction up to 352.2 billion cubic meters [about 12 trillion cubic feet]. This is 22.6 billion cubic meters, or 7.5 percent, more than last year," Miller said at a teleconference marking the day of the oil and gas industry workers.

In 2017, the company increased extraction by 12.4 percent, up to 471 billion cubic feet.

In 2018, Gazprom plans to extract 476 billion cubic meters of gas.
