Bill Seeks To Hold Trump Officials Responsible For Wasting Government Money - US Senators

WASHINGTON (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 30th August, 2018) A new bill introduced in Congress would hold Trump administration officials accountable for money they wasted on private flights, entertainment and vacations, US Senator Tom Carper said in a press release.

"US Senators Tom Carper, Mazie Hirono, Elizabeth Warren and Gary Peters have introduced legislation to hold Trump Administration officials accountable when they misuse taxpayer dollars," the release said on Wednesday.

The Executive Branch Waste and Fraud Recovery Act establishes a process through which the most senior agency officials will be required to repay US taxpayer Dollars that were inappropriately spent on items like private flights, entertainment and vacations, the release explained.

"It should be obvious that taxpayer dollars shouldn't be wasted on fancy office furniture, unnecessary charter flights, sports games or trips to Disneyland," Carper said in the release.

The bill is intended to hold officials personally liable for the misuse of taxpayer dollars, ensuring that taxpayers will not pay for their corrupt behavior, Hirono said in the release.
