Two Policemen Wounded In Exchange Of Fire With Gunman In Russia's Dagestan

MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 30th August, 2018) Two police officers were wounded on Wednesday during the exchange of fire with an unidentified gunman in Russia's North Caucasus republic of Dagestan, the republic's Interior Ministry said.

"At about 11.00 pm Moscow time [20:00 GMT] police officers stopped a car for an ID check near the village of Toturbykala in the Khasavyurt district. The driver opened fire at the officers and ran away. The policemen were wounded and taken to a hospital. Their lives are not in danger," the ministry said in a statement.

The search for the suspect is underway, the ministry added.
