MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 29th August, 2018) Peru authorities are calling for an emergency meeting of the Migration Services Committee of the Andean Community regarding the large migration outflow from Venezuela to be held Wednesday, the Peruvian Foreign Ministry said.

"Peru has called for an emergency meeting [of the committee] including Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia and Peru to be held on August 29. The main goal of the meeting is to coordinate actions to ensure orderly, safe and responsible access for the mass inflow of migrants from Venezuela," the ministry said, according to the statement published Tuesday.

According to the statement, the officials will discuss the necessary documents, security and sanitary issues as well as possible allocation of humanitarian aid.

On Tuesday, Brazilian President Michel Temer said his government sent troops to the country's northernmost state of Roraima to ensure security amid migrants' arrivals. Ecuador, too, introduced the state of emergency in several provinces.

According to the United Nations, more than 1.6 million Venezuelans have fled the country, struggling to overcome the economic crisis, since 2015.
