LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 07th Oct, 2016 ) : The Lahore High Court on Friday ordered regularisation of dozens of contract social mobilizers of the Population Welfare Department. Justice Shujaat Ali Khan passed the orders while allowing petitions filed by Muhammad Zia Ullah and others.
The petitioner's counsel submitted before the court that despite the court orders, only a few contract social mobilizers were regularised and remaining were ignored. He said that the petitioners had been working as social mobilizers in the Population Welfare Department on contract for last ten years and their non-regularisation was a violation of court orders and fundamental rights.
He pleaded the court to issue directions for regularisation of the petitioners. The court after hearing arguments of the parties ordered to regularise 74 social mobilizers.
