Duda, Trump to Discuss Polish-US Military Ties During September Talks - Defense Minister

Military cooperation between Poland and the United States, including a permanent US base on Polish territory, will be one of the key topics to be discussed at an upcoming meeting between the Polish and US presidents, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said on Wednesday.

WARSAW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 29th August, 2018) Military cooperation between Poland and the United States, including a permanent US base on Polish territory, will be one of the key topics to be discussed at an upcoming meeting between the Polish and US presidents, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said on Wednesday.

The White House said in a press release on Tuesday that US President Donald Trump would host his Polish counterpart, Andrzej Duda, in Washington, DC on September 18, adding that the leaders were planning to discuss trade, military and security matters.

"Security ... military cooperation will be discussed," Blaszczak said on the Polish radio, specifying that the sides would speak about "contracts related to the arming of the Polish People's Army and a permanent base of US troops in Poland."

Duda's trip to Washington will mark his first official visit to the White House since hosting Trump in Warsaw last July.
