TRA celebrates Emirati Woman's Day

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority,TRA, celebrated the Emirati Women’s Day, which falls on 28 August each year, under the theme "Women on the course of Zayed".

ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 28th Aug, 2018) The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority,TRA, celebrated the Emirati Women’s Day, which falls on 28 August each year, under the theme "Women on the course of Zayed". Several events and activities were held on the occasion, reflecting the importance of the Emirati women’s contribution in the development and welfare of the country.

The celebration highlighted the great role of the late Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan,in supporting the Emirati woman’s journey, enabling and enhancing her position in society and supporting her to assume the highest positions. The events screened a video in which female employees emphasised on maintaining Zayed’s approach, in addition to organising an awareness-raising session in TRA, live-broadcasted through social media channels, aiming to encourage and motivate Emirati women to work in the field of information security. TRA also hosted the researcher, book writer ‘Zayed, History of Man and the Civilization of Nation’, and historian of Sheikh Zayed’s life, Sheikha Al Ghawi, who spoke about Sheikh Zayed’s support for Emirati women, in addition to hosting the lawyer Salha Al-Basti to talk about positivity in life, self-development and perseverance. The event also included a traditional gathering with the guest-writers in TRA premises in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, followed by traditional breakfast and visit to the Women’s Museum to see the Fine Arts exhibition organized for the occasion.

Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri, TRA Director General, sent an SMS greeting all female employees on the Emirati Women’s Day, whom as Zayed wanted, have become an example of excellence and creativity, and a source of pride for their country and the world.

On this occasion, Al Mansouri commented: "Emirati woman has always been a full partner in the process of building, progress and development supported by the wise leadership starting with the founding fathers, in particular the late Sheikh Zayed. Emirati women have maintained the values of the Emirati society by raising their children on authentic UAE customs and traditions, and instilling in them love of their country and loyalty to its leaders. They have raised a generation capable of reaching glory, greatness and civilization, as the UAE has become a strong civilized young country. And today, the Emirati woman stands side by side with her brother in all aspects of practical and scientific life, full of ambition and motivated by hope of taking her country to the highest levels of success and happiness"

Al Mansouri added: "This year’s celebrations coincide with our celebration of ‘the Year of Zayed’, the man who believed in the Emirati woman’s ability to contribute in all fields. He always supported her, and was keen that she receives all her rights. He opened the doors of education and work for her to achieve unprecedented constant success in all fields, with the support of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), who contributed to enhancing the presence of the Emirati women through providing enabling programs and engaging them in development programs in all areas of public life. Her Highness has advanced women’s work to new dimensions by adopting programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing the role of women all over the world, as we can find her achievements today in all parts of the world."

Al Mansouri added: "Our wise leadership has followed Sheikh Zayed’s approach in women’s empowerment. This wise vision has been deeply rooted in the thinking and approach of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan who enhanced woman’s support by launching ambitious programs and widening her horizon, to become an essential partner in various areas of national work, and to assume the highest political, executive and legislative positions as well as various senior leadership positions related to development of strategies and decision-making".
