Russian-Chinese Energy Business Forum to Be Held in Beijing on November 29 - Rosneft CEO

The first Russian-Chinese forum of energy companies will take place in Beijing on November 29, with about 80 firms from the two countries having already confirmed their participation in the event, CEO of Russia's Rosneft oil giant Igor Sechin told reporters on Monday.

KEMEROVO (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 27th August, 2018) The first Russian-Chinese forum of energy companies will take place in Beijing on November 29, with about 80 firms from the two countries having already confirmed their participation in the event, CEO of Russia's Rosneft oil giant Igor Sechin told reporters on Monday.

Earlier in the day, a meeting of the Russian Presidential Commission on the Strategy for the Development of the Fuel and Energy Industry and Environmental Safety was held in the Russian city of Kemerovo.

"The commission has also discussed the Russian-Chinese forum of energy companies. The first forum will take place in Beijing on November 29. Next year this forum will be held in Russia," Sechin, who is also the commission's executive secretary, said.

According to Sechin, a total of 44 Russian energy companies and 35 Chinese firms have already confirmed their participation in the upcoming forum.

"The [forum's] agenda will be devoted to the oil and gas field, electricity and coal industries as well as to the financial cooperation in the fuel and energy complex," Sechin said.

In June, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping agreed during talks in Beijing to organize a Russian-Chinese energy business forum.
