A total of 2,156 counterterrorism operations were conducted by the Turkish forces across the country on August 20-27, according to the Anadolu news agency.

As many as 12 militants were killed, nine apprehended, while five others surrendered to the authorities, the agency reported.

Moreover, 62 individuals were arrested over their alleged support for PKK militants.
