The Type 001A aircraft carrier, the first to be produced in China, has embarked on a second sea trial, Chinese media reported Monday.
BEIJING (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 27th August, 2018) The Type 001A aircraft carrier, the first to be produced in China, has embarked on a second sea trial, Chinese media reported Monday.
The aircraft carrier on Sunday left the Dalian Shipyard for the second trials in order to fix the issues observed during the first test, the Global Times newspaper reported.
The Chinese officials have not confirmed the sea trials.
The first set of tests was held in May.
The new vessel will be the second of this type in the Chinese Navy. The first one, a refitted Soviet aircraft carrier, was purchased from Ukraine.
