VILNIUS (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 27th August, 2018) Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will start a two-day visit to Lithuania on Monday and is expected to meet with the Baltic country's senior officials, the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will visit Lithuania on August 27-28. During the visit the minister will meet with [Lithuanian] Foreign Minister Linas Linkevicius, President Dalia Grybauskaite, Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis and members of Seimas [Lithuania's unicameral parliament]," the statement read.
According to the statement, the sides will discuss bilateral diplomatic and economic relations, regional security, cooperation within NATO as well as the situation in Syria and the middle East.
They will also sign a renewed agreement between the Turkish and Lithuanian governments on mutual promotion and protection of investment, the statement said.
Cavusoglu is paying a return visit to the Baltic country after the visits of Linkevicius to Ankara in August 2016 and May 2018.
