MOSCOW (Pakistan Point News / Sputnik - 25th August, 2018) The Russian Foreign Ministry confirms that an official visit of Syrian Foreign Minister Walid Muallem to Moscow will take place in late August, a source in the ministry told Sputnik.
"Such a visit is being planned," a source said, when asked whether the visit of Muallem is underway.
Earlier in the day, Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riyad Haddad said that the visit of the Syrian delegation led by the foreign minister will take place in late August. He added that the visit will be carried out within the framework of the Syrian-Russian intergovernmental commissions.
Russia, alongside Iran and Turkey, is a guarantor of the ceasefire regime in Syria. Moscow has also been assisting Damascus both through supporting the struggle against terrorist groups and providing humanitarian aid to the residents of the crisis-torn country.
